SKPetro, CIMB underpin KLCI rebound, bucks key Asian markets (Update)


KUALA LUMPUR: Blue chips rallied on Friday, with the FBM KLCI chalking up as much as 26 points, underpinned by gains in banks and oil gas stocks as investors believed the market could have been oversold.

At 5pm, the KLCI was up 20.54 points or 1.16% to 1,788.31. Turnover was 2.29 billion shares valued at RM2.48bil. There were 884 gainers, 128 losers and 161 counters unchanged.
