Siemens has continued to hold the world record in net efficiency for its gas turbines, which allows power plants to save on fuel consumption and cut CO2 emissions.
BERLIN: It was not exactly crossing Checkpoint Charlie, but the four Malaysian journalists who walked out of Siemens’ gas turbine manufacturing plant in Berlin into a cool drizzle, realised that it was a historical landmark.
As we ended a three-day tour of the engineering giant’s gas and steam turbine operations in Germany, we took a hurried final look at the plant − or more specifically, towards the facade of one of the buildings within this 130,000 sq m manufacturing site.
