EPF's foreign investments pay off in Q2


Both domestic and international equities generated investment returns of RM6.49bil, which marked a rise of 16.06% or RM898.5mil, compared with the corresponding period of 2013. Of the total equity investment returns, 42% was contributed by international portfolios, EPF's chief executive officer Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan (pic) said.

PETALING JAYA: The Employees Provident Fund’s (EPF) foreign portfolios contributed significantly to its 13.47% jump in investment income for its second quarter ended June 30.

During the period, the EPF recorded RM10.40bil in investment income, up from RM9.16bil a year earlier, in a challenging environment.
