KUALA LUMPUR: The second IFSEC South-East Asia, that will be held from Sept 3 to 5, will have over 300 companies from 36 countries showcasing their latest technological products and services in commercial security, safety and fire protection as well as data protection and cyber security products and solutions.
United Business Media (M) Sdn Bhd (UBM Malaysia) managing director M Ghandhi said the objective of the event was to showcase, educate and inform end users of the newest commercial security solutions, products and services available in the market.
“Security solutions no longer function passively. Instead, newer solutions enables crime prevention,” he said, adding that consumers and business owners will be able to learn more through the event.
The IFSEC had been in the United Kingdom for 30 years and Kuala Lumpur is home to the event for the South-East Asia region.
This year, the event, which includes talks and the exhibition, will be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar will be the guest of honour for IFSEC SEA 2014.
In conjunction with the event, the Asian Professional Security Association (APSA) Conference will be held from Sept 4 to 5.
There will be six topics and a panel discussion, featuring speakers like Cyber Security chairman Tan Sri Mohd Azumi Mohamed and Commercial Crime Investigation Department deputy director (cyber crime/multimedia investigation) Senior Asst Comm (SAC) Mohd Kamarudin Md Din.
On top of that, there will be a gala dinner on Sept 4 with Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as the guest of honour.
About 7,500 visitors from around the world are expected at the IFSEC SEA 2014.
