SEOUL: South Korea's factory output in June blew past expectations to post its strongest growth in nearly five years, fully recouping a sharp contraction in May and calming fears of the economic recovery stalling.
Industrial output rose by a seasonally adjusted 2.9% in June on the month following a revised 2.8% fall in May, Statistics Korea data showed on Wednesday. May's revised reading was slightly worse than a preliminary 2.7% fall.
