Axiata sells Samart I-Mobile stake for RM283.92mil


PETALING JAYA: Axiata Group Bhd has sold its entire 24% stake in Samart I-Mobile Public Co Ltd, a 52%-owned subsidiary of Thailand-listed telco Samart Corp Public Co Ltd, for US$88.6mil (RM283.92mil).

President and group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Jamaludin Ibrahim said Axiata had since its inception wished to exit from non-core businesses and concentrate on its primary business of mobile communications.
