FOLLOWING my article on cooling off measures for car purchases published last month, I received quite a fair bit of feedback from friends and readers. One of the readers commented that “owning a car is a very expensive hobby.” This made me ponder on the subject.
I know it may trigger some displeasure when car ownership is described as a “hobby”, when it is indeed a necessity to those who have limited access to public transportation. However, emotions aside, owning a car can be really expensive considering the choice of cars made by many young adults of low to medium income households in our country nowadays.
