KUALA LUMPUR: The local bourse was lower at midday Friday on mild profit-taking activity following two market days of closing highs with KLK and Petronas Dagangan among the losers.
Asian markets were in the red as investors sold off equities and took to safe-haven assets such as the yen and gold following a rout on Wall Street yesterday and the release of weaker first-quarter macroeconomic data from the eurozone.
