Japan lawmakers says casino bill may be delayed

Global casino operators wishing to set up shop in Japan by 2020, when Tokyo hosts the Olympic Games, will not be encouraged by news that Japan may not be able to pass a bill legalising casino gambling in the current parliament session ending next month - Reuters.

TOKYO: Japan may not be able to pass a bill that would pave the way to legalising casino gambling in the current parliament session which ends next month, two lawmakers said on Thursday.

Delaying the bill could thwart global casino operators' ambitions to set up in one of the world's last untapped gaming markets by 2020, when Tokyo is due to host the Olympic Games.
