Economic Transformation Programme hits maturity phase


PETALING JAYA: The investments committed in 2013 under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) was only RM8bil, indicating that the initiative is reaching its maturity phase.

The programme, which is the cornerstone of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s plan to transform the economy into a high-income nation by 2020, had recorded commitments in investments of RM179.2bil when it was launched in 2011. Last year, the number dropped to RM32.1bil.
