PETALING JAYA: While loan growth on a month-on-month basis showed a rebound among local banks, its outlook for the year is projected to slow to around 10% as the effects of the cooling measures kick in further.
Analysts expect the slowdown to be mainly contributed by residential mortgages. Business loans, however, are expected to strengthen, supported by the credit demand generated by projects under the Economic Tramsformation Programme.
