CREEPY-CRAWLY coincidence or not, the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) last month won two court cases centred on worms and leeches. Specifically, the charges were relating to illegal investment schemes built on the touted profitability of breeding these two invertebrates.

On April 10, the Kulim Sessions Court convicted an officer of Kulim Worm Agrotech (M) Sdn Bhd for collecting money from the public for their participation in a worm farming business that didn’t have a trust deed approved by the CCM.
