South African insurer eyes controlling stake in MCIS Zurich Insurance

PETALING JAYA: Sanlam Emerging Markets, a unit of South African insurance company Sanlam Ltd, is buying 51% of MCIS Zurich Insurance Bhd for about US$118.4mil (RM385mil).

The acquisition confirms a StarBiz report published in February that the South African insurer was in talks to buy a stake in MCIS Zurich.
