BAT Q1 earnings improve 10.4% to RM225.4mil


KUALA LUMPUR:  Despite lingering worries over the cigarette price increase last year and the resultant spike in illegal cigarettes sales, British American Tobacco Bhd saw its earnings for the first quarter ended March 31, 2014 rise 10.4% year-on-year to RM225.4mil from RM202.2mil.

Revenue improved 5.3% to RM1.154bil from RM1.095bil.
