KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Holdings Bhd
is still in early talks to acquire a 24% stake in Indonesian lender Bank Panin Syariah, says its deputy chairman, Tan Sri Lodin Wok Kamaruddin.
This is its second attempt to break into the lucrative but volatile Indonesian banking sector after failing to buy over Bank Ina Perdana a few years ago due to regulatory changes in the country.
