Consumer stocks lead blue chips higher


KUALA LUMPUR: Consumer heavyweights BAT and Nestle topped the gainers list on Wednesday as investors opted for dividend stocks amid a firmer market which saw HDBS and Bonia climbing to record highs.

At 5pm, the FBM KLCI was up 3.44 points or 0.19% to 1,855.75. Turnover was 2.2 billion shares valued at RM2.38bil. There were 462 gainers, 336 losers and 351 stocks unchanged.
