Water concessionaires' licences for raw water abstraction won't be renewed

PETALING JAYA: Water concessionaires in Selangor have been told by the Selangor Water Management Authority (LUAS) that their licences for raw water abstraction in the state will not be renewed when the licences expire at end-May.

This effectively bars the companies from extracting raw water for their water treatment plants in less than three months’ time, as the Government tightens the screw on Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPS), Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd and Gamuda Bhd to accept its final RM9.65bil takeover offer.
