KLK to sell UK-based Somerset

PETALING JAYA: Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK) is disposing off its wholly-owned subsidiary, UK-based Somerset Cuisine Ltd, for RM4.95mil to Derfield Industries Ltd, an investment company incorporated in Hong Kong.

KLK told Bursa Malaysia yesterday that the disposal will allow the company to exit from a non-core business and enable it to focus and harness the potential of its core plantations and oleochemical business “where the returns are significantly higher.”
