KLCI closes lower but trading volume surges past 3bil shares (Update)


KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Gas and Genting Bhd dragged the FBM KLCI into the red at the close on Monday on some fund selling but there was strong retail interest in lower liners which saw trading volume cross three billion shares.

At 5pm, the FBM KLCI was down 2.06 points to 1,828.68. Turnover was 3.06 billion shares valued at RM2.07bil, the largest in many months but still below the all-time high of 4.78 billion on Feb 22, 2007.
