MyCC fines 26 ice manufacturers RM283,600


MyCC chief executive officer Shila Dorai Raj says the ice manufacturers, who have been fined between from RM1,200 to RM106,000 for trying to fix the the price of edible tube ice and ice blocks, have 30 days from the date the Proposed Decision is served to submit written representations or indicate whether they wish to make oral representations before the MyCC.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) today proposed financial penalties of RM283,600 on 26 ice manufacturers found to have come into an agreement with the objective of fixing, directly or indirectly, the selling price of edible tube ice and block ice in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya.

The commission said they had infringed Section 4(2)(a) of the Competition Act 2010.
