KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's consumer price index in January rose 3.4 % from a year earlier, reflecting a rise in prices of food, transport and electricity, data from the Statistics Department showed on Wednesday.
The rate is the highest since October 2011 and exceeded a forecast of 3.3% in a Reuters poll of 15 economists.
