Hard disk drive component makers seek to expand non-HDD business


GEORGE TOWN: Penang-based hard disk drive (HDD) component manufacturers are looking to reduce their dependence on the HDD market, which faces tough challenges from tablets and smart devices which use solid state drives.

Both Dufu Technology Corp Bhd and Eng Teknologi Holdings Bhd, which supply HDD components to the major HDD manufacturing companies, are looking to raise the revenue contribution of their non-HDD business.
