OSLO: Norwegian telecoms group Telenor signed a 15-year licence deal in Myanmar and said its operations in one of Asia’s poorest countries would reach cashflow breakeven within three years, the firm said.
Telenor, which has about 150 million subscribers in Asia, the Nordics and central Europe, said it would pay US$500mil for the licence while peak funding costs, or the fee plus accumulated losses until the cashflow breakeven, would be about US$1bil. — Reuters
