Malaysia's commercial vehicle seen outpacing car sales

PETALING JAYA: Frost & Sullivan expects the quantum of sales growth for the local commercial vehicle segment to outpace the passenger vehicle segment this year due to an increase in construction activities and better overall economic performance.

Frost & Sullivan partner and head of automotive and transportation practice, Asia-Pacific, Kavan Mukhtyar said he expected the commercial vehicle segment to grow 4.8% to 81,000 units year-on-year, compared with 4.1% (to 594,000 units) for the passenger vehicle segment.
