Naza to establish eight more Chevrolet centers in 2014

BUTTERWORTH: Naza Quest Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of the Chevrolet brand in Malaysia, plans to open eight Chevrolet centres this year in addition to the 27 outlets already operating in the country.

Chief Operating Officer Norzahid Mohd Zahudi said the group was currently looking for potential partnership, especially in the Southern and East coast regions, to extend its network given the positive demand for the Chevrolet brand.

It currently has 27 Chevrolet centres, nationwide, and the new centres will bring the total to 35 centres by year-end. "We are expanding and enhancing our current network in order to achieve greater sales and to provide better service to our customers," he told reporters after launching the Northern region's Chevrolet 3S centre here Friday night.

Norzahid said the 3S centre which would include sales, showcase and service facilities, was expected to contribute about 13 per cent to national sales of Chevrolet vehicles.

"We are eyeing about RM1.8 million sales every month from this centre with an average sale of 18 units a month," he said, adding that Naza Quest sold 2,000 Chevrolet cars last year.

Meanwhile, the Chevrolet 3S centre, operated by Ooi Ting Chong Holdings Sdn Bhd, had invested about RM3 million to set up the 5,000 sq ft facility located in Taman Bintang here.

Managing Director Ooi Choon Peng said the centre would cater for the needs of Chevrolet's growing number of customers in Penang and Kedah.

"With the wealth of experience in selling international brands of motorcycles since the 1950s and selling luxury automobiles for 13 years, we are proud to be recognised as one of the major car and bike dealerships in the northern region," he said.

Among the latest Chevrolet's models that will be displayed at the centre's showroom is the Sonic, Cruze, Orlando, Colorado and Captiva. - Bernama
