World’s first variable density tunnel boring machine boosts MRT progress in KL


KUALA LUMPUR: The world’s first variable density tunnel boring machine (TBM) broke through at the site of the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit’s (MRT) Pasar Rakyat station here, boosting the progress of underground works for the Sungai Buloh-Kajang line to 50%.

The overall progress of Malaysia’s largest infrastructure project to date has reached 33%, MRT Corp Sdn Bhd acting chief executive officer Haris Fadzilah Hasan said at a briefing at the site along Jalan Tun Razak and near the planned Tun Razak Exchange.
