KUALA LUMPUR: HSBC Global Research expects many Asian currencies to be exposed to periods of higher volatility in 2014 but China’s renminbi, South Korea’s won and the Taiwan dollar will be able to ride out the storm.
In its Asian foreign currency focus 2014 issued on Wednesday, it said this year would be about the survival of the fittest, whereby it maintained its preference for North Asian currencies relative to the rest of the region.
