Auto sector draws RM32bil

KUALA LUMPUR: The domestic automotive industry has attracted RM32bil in cumulative investments since it was incepted some 30 years ago through manufacturing of made-in-Malaysia cars and motorcycles, the Dewan Negara was told.

Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Hamim Samuri said the investments were not only in assembling of vehicles but also in industries engaged in assembling of commercial vehicles, components and spare parts.
