CGC repays RM700mil to Bank Negara


Credit Guarantee Corporation MD Datuk Wan Azhar Wan Ahmad says the RM700mil repayment to Bank Negara would not impact CGC’s reserve and its ability to continue its primary role of providing credit guarantee to SMEs in the future.

KUALA LUMPUR: Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd (CGC) announced today it had made the first tranche of repayment amounting to RM700mil  to Bank Negara Malaysia for the RM850mil loan it was extended.

CGC, which has BNM as its major shareholder, focuses on assisting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by providing guarantee cover for credit facilities from financial institutions.
