PETALING JAYA: An improvement in external demand amid a recovery in the developed economies will help lift Malaysia’s economy to 5% year-on-year growth in 2014 from the estimated 4.6% growth this year.
Alliance Research chief economist Manokaran Mottain expects the manufacturing sector to expand 5.8% next year on the back of an improvement in trade activity.
