Boost from Genting, UMW, drive KLCI higher

KUALA LUMPUR: Gains in Genting and UMW helped push the FBM KLCI higher at midday on Thursday, as investors sentiments recovered in line with the firmer Asian markets.

At 12.30pm, the KLCI was up 5.17 points to 1,787.66. Turnover was 859.04 million valued at RM792.29mil. There were 427 gainers, 231 decliners and 325 counters unchanged.
