Marginal loan growth of credit card seen

SHAH ALAM: Credit card loans growth is expected to see growth in the “high single digit” moving forward after consolidating at a low base over the past few years, according to CIMB Bank Bhd deputy chief executive officer and head of consumer banking Renzo Christopher Viegas.

“I think there would be a marginal pick up in (credit card) loans growth – not much. I don’t think you will see double-digit growth but I believe it will grow by high single digits,” Viegas told StarBiz on the sidelines of the launch of CIMB’s Plug n Pay mobile Point-of-Sale (mPOS) solution with DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd yesterday.
