Halim Saad's legal move challenged

PETALING JAYA: The Government is seeking to strike out the controversial RM2bil suit that was filed by Tan Sri Halim Saad last April. The striking out application was filed on on July 8 and will heard by the High Court on Oct 31.

In his suit, Halim had named Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop, The Government and Khazanah Nasional Bhd as the three defendants, claiming that he was “fraudulently induced” to sell the Renong/UEM group shares to Khazanah. Halim demanded that he be compensated by a sum of RM2bil to be paid to him in the form of cash and land.
