JOHOR BARU: More theme parks are coming up in Iskandar Malaysia as well as in other areas outside the economic growth corridor in the next one to two years.
Iskandar Regional Development Authority (Irda) chief executive officer Datuk Ismail Ibrahim said several foreign theme park operators from Australia, Europe and North America have shown “strong interest” to set up operations in Johor.
“I can’t reveal the names but we will announce them once we have reach agreements with them,” Ismail told a press conference at the opening of the Second Iskandar Malaysia Ecotourism Summit by the Sultan Johor’s Consort Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah at Persada Johor International Convention Centre here yesterday.
