Japan Airlines buys 31 aircraft from Airbus

The A350-900 (left) seats more than 300 passengers in a three-class layout on routes as long as 8,100 nautical miles (nm), whilst the A350-1000 seats 350 passengers on even longer journeys of up to 8,400 nm.

KUALA LUMPUR: Japan Airlines (JAL) has signed a purchase agreement with Airbus for 31 A350 XWBs (18 A350-900s and 13 A350-1000s), with options for a further 25 aircraft.

The deal is apparently JAL’s first ever order of Airbus aircraft, and Airbus’s first Japan order for the A350 XWB. No figures were released, however, as to how much the deal was worth.
