Public Bank, Petronas Gas lift KLCI, US govt partial shutdown seen short-lived


KUALA LUMPUR: Fund buying of Public Bank and Petronas Gas pushed the FBM KLCI higher at midday on Wednesday amid the higher key regional markets as investors assumed the first partial shutdown of the US government could be short-lived.

At 12.30pm, the KLCI rose 3.49 points to 1,772.52. Turnover was 973.16 million shares valued at RM671.37mil. There were 352 gainers, 239 losers and 320 counters unchanged.
