JAKARTA: Indonesia's government unveiled an emergency fiscal package on Friday to promote foreign investment, reduce imports and prop up its tumbling rupiah currency, as it struggles to revive confidence in Southeast Asia's largest economy.
The intervention follows a punishing week for emerging markets, with currencies from Brazil to India shaken by fears of higher global borrowing costs and a reduction in cheap cash from the United States.
