SINGAPORE: Gold came off an intra-day low on Friday and was on track for its second weekly gain, boosted by a rally in Tokyo bullion futures on a weaker yen and speculative buying ahead of an election in Japan at the weekend.
The most active gold futures contract on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange rose to a four-week peak at 4,171 yen (US$41.67) a gram.
