KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s lower net foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows is not a sign that the country is losing its appeal among foreign investors but a reflection of it seeking quality investments, according to International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
While Malaysia’s gross FDI inflows have gone up, the net inflows have recorded a dip accommodating higher outflows through repayment of inter-company loans, trade credits and other capital payments.
