Selling pressure picks up pace, consumer stocks hit


KUALA LUMPUR: Selling pressure on Bursa Malaysia rose in late afternoon trade on Monday, with consumer stocks - the recent stellar performers -- among the major losers amid a broader weaker market.

At 3.31pm, the FBM KLCI fell 15.81 points to 1,740.04. Turnover was 1.08 billion shares valued at RM1.20bil. Declining stocks beat advancers more than six to one, with 735 losers to 122 gainers.
