KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Tuesdaty. FUNDAMENTALS

* Malaysian palm oil futures edged lower on Monday as a fall in inventory levels missed expectations, although losses were capped by recovering demand for the edible oil.

* Oil ended lower in lacklustre trading on Monday with geopolitical supply risk lending some support to Brent crude oil but weak demand in China setting the overall market tone. MARKET NEWS

* The dollar rose against the yen and U.S. bond yields neared 14-month highs on Monday on improved sentiment toward the U.S. economy after rating agency Standard & Poor's dropped its negative credit outlook for U.S. government debt. * U.S. corn futures plunged 2 percent on Monday, the most in about a month, as forecasts for warmer weather promised good growing conditions in the Midwest crop belt and snapped a streak of four sessions without a decline.
