MBSB plans to raise RM3b-RM4b (Update)

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Building Society Bhd (MBSB) is in talks with its advisers to raise some RM3bil to RM4bil in additional capital via a dividend reinvestment plan and bonds and rights issue, in a bid to shore up its capital ratios, said president and CEO Datuk Ahmad Zaini Othman.

However, he told journalists on Friday the non-bank lender has yet to decide on when to carry out the fundraising, saying only that the proposals would be put in action within this and next year.
