KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's blue chips surged on Monday, underpinned by CIMB, as the FBM KLCI rallied to an all-time high of 1,826 after the Barisan Nasional secured a simple majority at the 13th General Elections to continue to rule the country.
At midday, the FBM KLCI was up 53.02 points or 3.13% to 1,747.79. Turnover was 1.15 billion shares valued at RM2.88bil. There were 745 gainers, 75 losers and 98 counters unchanged.
