PETALING JAYA: PT Bank Internasional Indonesia Tbk (BII), Malayan Banking Bhd’s (Maybank) Indonesian banking unit, saw its net profit climb 16% to Rp309bil (RM96.53mil) in the first quarter ended March 31, courtesy of double-digit growth in its deposit and loan books.
The Indonesian lender’s net interest income from loans increased 18% to Rp1.4 trillion against a 14% and 24% rise in its loans and deposits to Rp79.7 trillion and Rp89.3 trillion, respectively.
