KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's inflation rate rose 1.6% in March from a year ago due to higher cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages.
The Statistics Department said on Wednesday the CPI for March rose to 106.2 from 104.5 a year ago. The increase was in line with consensus.
