S-E Asia’s growth spurs interest in art collection

ASIAN art and in particular South-East Asian art, ranging from antiquity to the modern and contemporary, and in various forms be it paintings, sculptures or ceramics, have always had a niche following among collectors.

In the old days, these art pieces were part of the collections of wealthy individuals such as Doris Duke, an American heiress who amassed a large collection of Islamic and Southeast Asian art in her travels or in the private collections of the corporate world.
