SYDNEY: Woolworths, Australia's top supermarket chain, reported a 3.8% rise in third-quarter same-store food and liquor sales, as the company enticed customers with targeted offers.
Chief executive Grant O'Brien said market conditions were challenging in the quarter ended March 31, particularly in general merchandise. “Customers are responding to the targeted offers we can make,” he said in a statement. Reuters
