KLCI inches up in early trade, but banks weigh


KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's blue chips opened slightly higher in early trade on Tuesday, underpinned by buying of Petronas Gas and HLFG but the broader market was firmer with mild buying interest in small caps and lower liners.

At 9.03am, the FBM KLCI was up 0.44 of a point to 1,688.43. Turnover was 44.04 million shares valued at RM24.12mil. There were 97 gainers, 39 losers and 106 counters unchanged.
