MMA merges newspapers and magazines

KUALA LUMPUR: This year’s Malaysian Media Awards (MMA) will see the award categories for newspapers and magazines merged into a single competing category. MMA 2013 chairman Juliana Chua said it was done to adhere to the Audit Bureau of Circulations’ guidelines.

“This will ensure the media agencies and planners acted responsibly and were accountable to their clients in ensuring an audited reach of audience,” she said at an event to announce this year’s awards. She said there would thus be 13 categories this year, one down from 14 categories last year.
