Malaysia bucks key regional markets


KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's stock market bucked the key regional markets on Thursday on extended fund buying of Axiata, Tenaga and Genting Malaysia, despite some intermittent profit taking.

At the close, the FBM KLCI was up 6.47 points or 0.39% to 1,674.04 and year-to-date it is down only 0.88%. Turnover was 917.25 million shares valued at RM2.07bil. There were 393 gainers, 287 losers and 333 counters unchanged.
